Ford is recalling more than 600,000 Ford Explorer, Ford Escape, Lincoln Aviator, and Lincoln Corsair SUVs from the 2020 through 2022 model years because their windshield wipers may stop working. If you own a vehicle that’s included in this recall, a dealership will fix the problem for free.

The problem is due to a faulty wiper motor. Before the motor fails completely, drivers may notice that the wipers aren’t moving as quickly as they should. Ford says that an assembly issue is probably the cause.

Once a fix is available, the automaker will notify owners that they can make an appointment with a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the wiper motor.

According to Ford, there have been 1,374 warranty claims so far but no crashes or injuries related to this issue.
